Hate Crimes- hits close to home

Winters, CA, May 23, 2009.  HATE CRIME 

Sometime during the early morning hours this day, a Silver Ford E-350 Van with the CA personalized license plate "GOD 'heart' GAY" was stolen from the 200 block of Abbey Street, driven across Putah Creek into Solano County and burned to the ground.  The vehicle belonged to the owner of the daily rhubarb blog (formerly www.polisticksandstones.blogspot.com), who writes under the name Sojourn R. Truth.  He is an elected local official, an outspoken proponent of gay rights, a vocal critic of the position on, and handling of, Proposition 8 by the Catholics and Mormons in California, and has officiated at numerous gay and lesbian weddings and committment cermonies.  

The van, lovingly named "GayVan Newsom", is survived by his owner, and also by Mrs. Truth;  by his 1996 Ford Ranger brother;  by his 2004 Toyota Prius sister; and the 4 greatest dogs in the world who had adopted him as their home-away-from-home: Bandit, Spenser, Belle, and Abbey.
