So, it turns out that the woman who reported possible burglars at the Henry Gates home in Cambridge, MA, did NOT mention the race of those involved- it was the dispatcher who first brought up the issue of race, when seeking a description of the men.
The facts are pretty simple. A man on his own property, with two forms of identification, and who, by all accounts, did NOT threaten or assault the police sergeant was arrested for being "uncooperative".
The POTUS is correct. The sergeant acted stupidly.
Far too many police officers are thin-skinned. I am reminded of the time Vacaville PD arrested a teenager for making "oink" noises as they walked by in Andrews Park.
Huh? These are the same guys who swore to uphold the Constitution, right?
It is not illegal to talk smack to a cop, nor should it be. Likewise, firefighters. We often deal with people at their worst, and get paid damn well to do so.
Suck it up. I would have been in Court at least once a month for over thirty years if talking smack to me was against the law- and that was just from those assholes on C-Shift!
C-Shift. Any day on C-Shift is like...night!
Back to the Barbarians.
Chris Mathews did an "intentionally-lousy" job of hiding his disdain yesterday of Michigan Congressman Thaddeus McCotter and his waste-of-time bill suggesting that the House attempt to control the President's comments.
Matt Lauer did a little better this morning, but not by much, when interviewing that right-wing nut & whack job Michelle Malkin.
It's a huge challenge for serious journalists to sit there and be objective when interviewing people who are prime candidates for a lobotomy.
Perhaps they will switch to Michael Jackson's doctor for treatment- one can only hope.
