The first reported tranmission of non-swine flu via Facebook has been reported- and between two elected officials, no less.
Yolo County Supervisor Matt Rexroad has been sick for most of the week, but keeping his Facebook friends informed of his highs and lows.
One of his BFFFs (Best Facebook Friends Forever) is Winters City Councilman Tom McMasters-Stone, who came down sick today.
Both men serve on the Yolo LAFCO, but have not been in any meetings together recently.
This the first case ever of an SNETD (Social Network Electronically-Transmitted Disease).
The CDC is now suggesting several precautionary measures for social networking:
- Place your video cam in freezer-quality ZipLoc bags, and change daily.
- Place a sheet of Saran Wrap over your keyboard, and change daily or when perforated.
- Cover your mouse when coughing.
- Update your virus protection hourly.
- Disable your cookies.
- Clear your cache every four hours.
