I sat here early yesterday from midnight to 0200 watching my new van, with my, uh, cellphone on my lap, and, uh, my other cellphone over my shoulder- in case they came after my new van.  That way I could call right away if the little bastards showed up.

The lights were off, as was the TV and stereo- and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a... parrot or dog!

I sat there, unseen and unheard, and contemplating the assasination of Dr. George Tiller by a domestic terrorist- in a church.

I wondered who would back-pedal, who would charge forward, and who would try to take the high road.  I didn't know how it would all play out, but I knew all three niches would be filled.

People who are willing to drag their small children out in 100+ degree weather to demonstrate against abortion and birth control are capable of just about anything- including assasination, obviously.

The Bible does not say anywhere that life begins at conception.  It does, however, talk about life being "breathed" into a person when they are born.  I know, I know- religions making shit up as they go along will not be on the front page anywhere soon.

If life does begin at conception, I did not have scrambled eggs this morning, I had scrambled chickens.

If life begins at conception, I did not have caviar on crackers last night, I had sturgeon.

If lifebegins at conception, I will not be baiting my hooks with salmon eggs tomorrow, I will be baiting them with salmon.

And if life begins at conception, that was not a raw quail egg on my tamagoyaki, it was an actual quail.

How do you explain the Catholic faux outrage, and total lack of class, over President Obama speaking at Noter Dame because of he does not believe in getting between a woman and her doctor?

After all, every other POTUS that has spoken in South Bend recently has been pro-death penalty.  Where was their outrage then?  Cafeteria Catholics...  Hmmm.

A religious friend of mine once told me that life could not begin at conception.  His rationale was that since God terminates more than half of all pregnanices, usually even before the woman knows she is pregnant, and his God if a just God, life must not start until after conception- his God would not end more than half of all lives before the starting gun went off.

Of course, he was neither Catholic nor Mormon- so he had the benefit of being able to think for himself, and not being controlled by a PuppetMaster.
